This 1954 White by Fender Studio Deluxe Lap & Table Steel Guitar is a rare and collectible gem from the early days of Fender's expansion into branded instruments. Marketed under the “White” name (honoring Fender’s production manager Forrest White), this model was built by Fender to the same high standards as their core line and features the unmistakable Fender tone and craftsmanship.
The steel shows lots of authentic, honest play wear. The decorative bridge cover is cracked - one of the mounts doesn't function. The pickup and electronic harness are all original, as are the knobs, legs, and the case.
Outfitted with its original Fender single-coil pickup, this 8-string steel delivers rich, singing sustain with a clean top end and warm, resonant lows—ideal for Hawaiian, country, western swing, and ambient slide playing. The white enameled finish is iconic and eye-catching, while the included detachable legs allow it to function as both a lap steel and a table model.
Whether you're a studio musician seeking a versatile vintage tone machine or a collector of Fender's early and off-brand creations, this 1954 White by Fender Studio Deluxe is a true piece of American electric guitar history.
