This 2017 Walrus Audio Deep Six Ltd Edition Compressor v.1 is in excellent condition. The Deep Six is a studio-grade optical compressor in pedal form, and the limited edition version carries the same core circuit as the standard release — a smooth, transparent compression character derived from an optical gain reduction element rather than VCA or FET designs. Optical compression of this type tends toward musical, soft-knee behavior: attack and release characteristics that feel natural rather than mechanical, making it well-suited to both single-note playing and full chords.

The Deep Six Compressor was part of Walrus Audio's early catalog and established their reputation for well-voiced, studio-influenced effects. The v.1 circuit is the original design iteration. Controls include the standard complement of Sustain, Attack, Blend, and Volume knobs along with an internal trim pot for output level adjustment. The Blend control is particularly useful, allowing the player to mix dry signal in parallel with the compressed signal — a technique borrowed directly from studio practice that preserves transient feel while adding sustain. This unit is a limited edition variant of the v.1. Notably, this pedal was updated by Walrus Audio on 8/27/26, which means the unit has been serviced or modified at the factory level after original manufacture.

The pedal is in excellent condition. No additional condition issues are noted beyond normal handling consistent with the excellent grade. This unit comes with its original box. No case is included.
