SVL guitars are under the radar for some players, but those who know get that they are among the finest custom made guitars out there.
This example is beautifully finished in an authentic, early 60's Fender style sunburst with light relicing. The nitro lacquer is lightly applied and shows the texture of the wood grain as you would see on a vintage Strat. Fender had moved to alder bodies by 1961, but this axe is constructed of old growth ash.
The neck has a great feel and the flamed maple is stunning. The fretboard is cocobolo, an interesting but appealing selection. Frets are 6105s for a familiar feel, and they're nicely dressed. The guitar has not been played all that much, so there is very little wear.
Pickups are from Mark Foley, his '59 Reserve models, which have the lower output and character of the highly sought after late 50's and early 60's guitars we all love.
The piece exudes quality and attention to detail. Included is a Gator ATA style case. There is no original paperwork with the guitar. The tremolo arm is included.
