Supro 1957 Ranchero Archtop w/ Original Case Excellent

The Supro Ranchero is a fully hollow maple archtop with a Valco-made single-coil pickup, and that combination produces a warm, woody midrange with a glassy top end that cuts through without harshness. This example is in excellent overall condition, with the original sunburst finish in very good shape, original cream pickguard in excellent shape, and all original hardware intact. The body date stamp reads S-57-E, placing this in 1957 production.

The Ranchero was part of Supro's mid-tier archtop line, built by Valco in Chicago. These were working-musician guitars — affordable, straightforward, and built to perform. They're great looking guitars too! The single Valco-made single-coil reads 9.21k on our meter, which is on the hotter side for a period single-coil and contributes to the pickup's fuller, more present tone. The 25.5" scale, 1-5/8" nut, and D-profile poplar neck give this guitar a familiar, comfortable geometry. Rosewood fretboard with MOP dot inlays, 20 frets, and a 12" radius. The body is maple — fully hollow construction — with body binding in very good condition. Kluson Deluxe tuners, all original, in excellent shape. Original bone nut with no repairs.

This example is a really good player.  Action measures 3/32" on the first string and 2/32" on the sixth at the 12th fret, strung with 10-46s. Frets are very good with no repairs done. Body, neck, and fretboard all show no repairs. A generic case is included in good condition with no odor. No documentation is included.
