This 2002 Suhr Carve Top Standard is a striking guitar in person.  The quilt top and headstock overlay are stunning, and the finish color really jumps.

The guitar is from a collection of high quality instruments that dribbles in over time.  Most of the pieces were bought, played a few times, then stashed.  That is definitely the case with this guitar.

At first glance the guitar is nearly flawless.  Closer inspection reveals a finish issue that impacts only the neck.  The finish has lifted away from the edge of the fretboard in places.  This could have been caused by humidity changes, but there is no evidence of "fret sprout" or any other signs of harm or damage that point to humidity or heat being a problem for the guitar.  It could just be that the finish didn't adhere properly when sprayed.  Either way, we are selling the guitar as-is so the next owner can decide how they want to address this.

The guitar is fully playable as it sits.  You can feel one area of finish that chipped away when you play it, but it isn't really distracting or obtrusive as far as I'm concerned.

The rest of the guitar, as stated, is clean as can be and issue-free.  The Buzz Feiten nut was changed for a traditional nut, something that many Suhr players do, requiring no alteration to the guitar.  Everything else on the guitar is original and issue free.

The neck is perfect, allowing for a killer setup with low action.  There is room in the truss rod for future adjustment.

Included is the original order/spec sheet, manual, tremolo arm and hard case.
