Squier 1987 Fender Stratocaster Japan Olympic White, Very Good

This Squier Stratocaster is an excellent example in Olympic White. Made in Japan in the 1980s, this guitar is built around a basswood body — a tonewood common to Japanese Squier production of this era. 

The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard, white dot inlays, a C profile, and a 7.25" radius — classic vintage Stratocaster specs. Nut width is 1-5/8". The bridge is a Fender System 1 locking tremolo designed by Schaller, original to the instrument. This was a feature Fender and Squier used on select mid-to-late 1980s. Pickups are all original ceramic single-coils reading 4.45k at the neck, 4.48k in the middle, and 4.49k at the bridge — closely matched, which is typical of the period's production. All electronics are original: wiring, three potentiometers, 5-way blade switch, output jack, and switch tip. The white pickguard, knobs, tuner screws, neck plate, and pickguard screws are all original. Fender logo closed-gear tuners are original and in very good condition. The original Olympic White finish is present throughout.

The neck condition is noted as fair.  We put 9 gauge strings on it, and the relief is quite flat with no room to loosen the truss rod further.  We suggest hybrid 9s or 10-46 strings for the best playability. Frets are in good condition with no repairs. The body, fretboard, and hardware show good condition consistent with the overall grade. No tremolo arm is included. There is no case included. We set the guitar up here in the shop with the action at 2/32" on the 1st string and 2/32" on the 6th string at the 12th fret.
