Silvertone 1965 1413L Turquoise Super Clean Perfect Neck w/ Orig Gig Bag

These turquoise Silvertone 1413Ls are always fetching, but this one is actually playable and it includes the original turquoise gig bag.  It is pretty much irresistible!

This example is in excellent condition overall, with original turquoise finish in very good shape, no visible body repairs, and a neck that hasn't warped into a ski jump like most of these I've seen.

The Silvertone 1413L was produced in the 1960s under the Sears Silvertone brand, with this variant sourced through Kay and fitted with a DeArmond "Hershey Bar" single-coil pickup. The potentiometers carry a 304 manufacturer code and a date code of 6521, placing production in the 21st week of 1965. The soft-V maple neck has a 12" fretboard radius, and 1-11/16" nut width. The original Silvertone gig bag is included and rates excellent with no odor.

The nut has been replaced in-house — the original is not present. The original nut was cracked next tot he E string on arrival, so we cut a new one out of bone here in the shop.  The pickguard is original and rates very good with a small crack at the lower bout screw hole. Wiring, solder joints, potentiometers, output jack, knobs, tuners, bridge, saddle, and pickguard screws are all reported original. Action is set at 2/32" on the first string and 3/32" on the sixth string at the 12th fret, with 10-46 strings installed.
