PRS 2004 Hollowbody II 10 Top & Back Piezo System w/ Case & Paperwork

The PRS Hollowbody II is built around a carved flamed maple top and back over a fully hollow maple body with a 1-3/4" depth — a configuration that produces a warm, resonant low-mid character with more acoustic bloom and air than a solid or semi-hollow design.  These are some of the most comfortable guitars to play - they are super light.  The hunk of wood between the top and the back allows for the stability of a stopbar tailpiece, which of course isn't possible on a fully hollow guitar. The PRS Archtop humbuckers lean toward a clear, articulate humbucker voice that benefits from the added body resonance. The integrated L.R. Baggs/PRS piezo system in the adjustable stoptail bridge adds a separate acoustic-leaning output, making this one of the more versatile electric platforms PRS has produced. This example is in excellent condition throughout, presenting cleanly with no structural issues or repairs.

The Hollowbody II with 10 Top and Back designation indicates PRS's graded figured maple — both the carved top and the back carry the enhanced figure associated with their top-tier cosmetic grade. The Amber Burst finish shows that figuring to good effect. The Wide Fat neck profile on a 25" scale with a 1-11/16" nut and .887" first-fret thickness is one of the fuller profiles PRS has offered, suited to players who prefer more material in hand. The Phase II locking tuners, original hardware throughout, rosewood board with abalone bird inlays, and maple binding are all consistent with what this model was specified with from the factory. The piezo saddles are machined brass, and the three-knob control layout — volume, tone, and piezo blend — remains fully original and functional.

We see no repairs, cracks, breaks, refrets, or replaced parts on this instrument. Finish is original and excellent. The neck and body finish are clean. Frets show light wear.  Someone played this guitar but kept it really, really clean and free of significant dents or dings.  Pickups are noted as very good, which reflects normal light use and associated patina rather than any damage. Action is set at 2/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the 12th fret on 10-46 strings.

The original PRS case is included in good condition. All the original paperwork and hang tag are present.
