Mesa Boogie 2020 California Tweed 1x12 40w Combo w/ Cover & Box Near Mint

This Mesa California Tweed is in near mint condition throughout and comes with the original Mesa slip cover (new in plastic) and the original factory shipping box.  We checked the amp out thoroughly as we always do, tested the tubes too.  It is good to go!

The California Tweed is Mesa Boogie's take on the classic Fender Tweed Deluxe circuit with some extra juice— four 6V6 power tubes driving a Jensen Blackbird 12" speaker in a Baltic birch cabinet covered in blonde tolex with a wheat grille. The combination of 6V6s, Jensen Blackbird, and the tweed voicing produces the warm, compressed, harmonically rich character associated with late-1950s American combo amps: clean headroom that compresses and blooms as you push the input, with a natural mid-forward tone that responds well to picking dynamics. The multi-watt switching — selectable at 2, 10, 20, 30, or 40 watts — lets you access power tube saturation at practical volume levels. 

Cabinet, grille, baffle, chassis, knobs, handle, potentiometers, and filter caps are all original with no repairs or changes noted. The Jensen Blackbird cone is original and in excellent condition. Internal repairs: none. Power cable included. No footswitch included.

Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
