The Martin OM-21 Special is built on the orchestra model body — 15" lower bout, 25.4" scale, 1-3/4" nut — a configuration that balances note articulation with full-body response.  This example is in beautiful shape, and the amber finish just draws you to it.  The finish has some light checking on the top — finish cracks only, no wood cracks. There is some clouding on the back and sides in the upper bout area. The headstock shows some marks from a string winder at the A and D tuner positions. No neck repairs, no fretboard repairs, no fret repairs. Action is set at 3/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the 12th fret. A care and feeding guide and a capo are included.

The OM-21 Special is Martin's modern take on the pre-war OM format. The "Special" designation on this run typically reflects upgraded appointments over the standard 21-series: ebony fingerboard, ebony pyramid bridge, bone nut and saddle, open-gear tuners, and abalone-dot ebony bridge pins. The 16" fretboard radius is flatter than vintage Martin spec, accommodating contemporary playing preferences without abandoning the traditional aesthetic. The open-gear Martin & Co. tuners, original tortoise shell pickguard, and pyramid bridge keep the instrument visually consistent with its pre-war inspiration. The original Martin-branded TKL case, is included, which is in excellent condition with no odor.
