Marshall 2023 ST20H MKII JTM Studio Head Black Near Mint

This Marshall ST20H MKII JTM Studio Head is an excellent example in black. It comes with an added bonus: a Studio Slips cover.  I love the 60s looks, and the low power tone is killer at a volume level that is very useable.

We have a couple different, matching cabinets from this series that we will list soon - a 1x12 and a 2x12.

The ST20H MKII is Marshall's modern take on the JTM45 circuit — their earliest production amp design — built into a compact studio-friendly head format. The switchable 20/5-watt power section gives players access to genuine power tube saturation at manageable volumes. The cabinet is finger jointed plywood wrapped in original black vinyl with a wheat grille. Power is supplied by a pair of 5881 power tubes, a close relative of the 6L6, which in JTM-style circuits produces warm tones with fuller low-end response than EL34-based Marshall designs. Three ECC83 preamp tubes handle gain staging. The amp is all original.  The tubes were tested in our shop to make sure the amp is good to go on arrival without additional expense.

There are no repairs, changes, or issues with this amp. The cabinet, chassis, covering, grille, and cover are all in excellent condition. The power cable is included.

Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
