This Mako Exotec XK-4 in Metallic Blue is in all original, very good condition with signs of honest use. It comes with the original case. The XK-4 is a double-cutaway solid-body electric with a 24.75" scale length, known for a slightly warmer, fuller low-mid response compared to Fender-scale instruments.
The XK-4 features a thin-C neck profile on a rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and a 12" radius — a modern-feeling setup for bending and fast playing. The 24-fret count extends the upper register beyond what most vintage designs offer. The Matsumoko-made single-coil pickups are both original, reading 4.19k at the neck and 4.08k at the bridge — low-output, clear-sounding pickups in the classic single-coil range. All electronics are original: wiring, potentiometers, 3-way toggle switch, output jack, and control cavity cover. Hardware is likewise all original: Grover tuners, Stratocaster-style non-locking tremolo with original tremolo arm, chrome knobs, and metal saddles. The finish is original throughout.
There are no repairs, changes, or issues with this instrument. Frets are in very good condition. We set the guitar up here in the shop with the action at 2/32" on the 1st string and 2/32" on the 6th string at the 12th fret, strung with 9-42s. The original Matsumoko/Samick-made case is included and is in very good condition with no odor.
