A toneful and very usable amp!
Mixing the irresistible character and tone of the Fender Tweed Deluxe AND the Harvard is pure genius.
The HD12 has two differently voiced inputs. Use an AB/Y switch or, my favorite, an Ernie Ball Volume/Panning pedal to utilize the two sounds at will.
Rated at 18 watts. Sounds a little bigger than that - very capable for use in a band setting.
Extremely well built!
From Louis Amps Website:
"The Louis Electric HD12 circuitry is based on two of the most popular Fender tweed amps from the late 1950’s, the Tweed deluxe amp and the Harvard amp. Guitar players have always sought out these amps in particular for their amazing clarity and tone. By taking the best features of each and combining them into one, the HD12 is really the perfect tweed style amp for gigs or recording. We added more usable headroom and power to make this a very vintage sounding and practical amp. The HD12 has a top-mounted design featuring three specific knobs: Bright Volume, Normal Volume, & Tone. There are 4 inputs, two high and two low.
The Louis Electric HD12 incorporates the 12AX7 along with the 6AT6 as an additional input. This provides the player with two distinct sounds from the amplifier. Slightly increased gain in addition to the traditional sound."
