Here we have a 2013 Lollar Wide Range Humbucker in chrome, neck position, reading 10.9k, in lightly used / excellent condition. The Wide Range Humbucker is the pickup that Seth Lover designed at Fender in the early 1970s after being hired away from Gibson specifically to create a humbucker that was brighter and more articulate than the PAF he had invented — the CuNiFe alloy magnet design that produces a wider frequency response than Alnico or ceramic alternatives, with individual pole pieces that extend all the way through the coil for true wide-range hum cancellation. Fender used it on the Telecaster Deluxe starting in 1972, and the reissues produced between the original run and Fender's 2020 return to CuNiFe construction used substitute magnet materials that did not replicate the original's tonal character. Lollar's Wide Range Humbucker is one of the most respected boutique recreations of the original CuNiFe design — built to Lover's original specifications with correct magnet alloy and coil geometry. At 10.9k in the neck position this is correctly wound for the warm, clear, articulate neck tone the Wide Range is known for. Ready to install.
