Gretsch 1977 White Falcon 7593 Single Cut All Original w/ case Excellent

No sales tax for US customers outside California.

The White Falcon was introduced at the 1954 NAMM show as the most ambitious guitar Gretsch had ever conceived. The original 1955 White Falcon began as the single-cutaway model 6136, and it was reintroduced in the early 1970s as model 7593 — the instrument that Billy Duffy would later make the sonic signature of The Cult.

All hardware, electronics, & wiring are intact. The gold Bigsby vibrato, Adjusto-Matic bridge, pickguard, and gold sparkle body binding are all original. The Black Top Filter'Tron humbuckers read 4.36k neck and 4.38k bridge. The mud switch is original and functional. There is a line in the finish on the back of the headstock that follows the line of the laminated walnut layer.  The glue and/or the walnut strip have shrunk a tiny bit, causing the white finish to separate.  It is not a crack and it has not been repaired, nor does it need to be.

The Filter'Tron pickups, though humbucking in nature, sound quite significantly twangy compared to a Gibson PAF — the wide-spaced coils and specific Gretsch voicing produce the chimey, articulate character that is completely distinct from any other humbucker. The three-piece maple/walnut/maple neck at .803" at the first fret and .926" at the tenth plays comfortably. Action set at 2/32" on the treble string and 3/32" on the bass string at the twelfth fret. Original hang tag and truss rod adjustment tool included. Original Gretsch hardshell case — painted white by a previous owner, otherwise in very good condition.
