Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top 1974

This 1974 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop is a superb example from the Norlin-era of Gibson production, combining classic ‘50s-inspired aesthetics with the unique tonal character of its mini-humbucker pickups. Built in Kalamazoo, this Deluxe features a carved maple top over a solid mahogany body, a three-piece mahogany neck with volute, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The iconic goldtop finish has gracefully aged, developing a subtle patina that enhances its vintage appeal.

The mini-humbuckers deliver articulate highs, tight bass response, and a focused midrange bite—making this model a favorite among players who want clarity with warmth. With a weighty, resonant feel and signature Gibson sustain, this Les Paul Deluxe sits beautifully in a mix whether used clean or pushed into creamy overdrive.

This example is in excellent condition and includes an original hard shell case.

Changes are listed below.  The pickups and pots are original and no solder joints have been messed with.  The finish is original with no overspray or issues.  There are no breaks or repairs.

The tuners are changed to 1980s or 1990s Gibson reproduction parts made by Schaller.  At one point, there were Grover tuners on this guitar.  The tuner post holes were widened to accommodate them.  The only sign of the change that you can see without taking the tuners off is the faint impression of wider bushings around the existing ones - seen when you look at the front of the headstock.

The output jack is also changed.  The original frets have lots of life left.  The neck is straight and there is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments.  

The guitar set up very nicely for us and plays like a dream!
