This Les Paul Custom was made in the last handful of months before Gibson moved to maple necks - the final Norlin era change that really threw them off course. A Les Paul with a mahogany neck simply sounds better than those with maple necks.
You won't find a cleaner early 70s example out there. This one is stunning!
The guitar plays wonderfully, with full frets that have plenty of life left. Like all the guitars that hit our website, the truss rod was checked and has room for future adjustment.
All solders are original and undisturbed. The embossed patent number pickups are intact and sound fantastic. The finish is bright and in super clean condition throughout.
The only change to the guitar is the knobs. This revealed a big hole in my parts stash - Gibson "witch-hat" knobs. Oh well!
The original case is in excellent condition.
This is the one to keep. It is certain to go up in value as it is a true stand out example.
