This guitar has been here before, and we celebrate its return!
The 60th Anniversary Les Pauls really stand out as another step closer to the golden era of Gibson guitar making. Wood selection and vintage accuracy have improved greatly over the last handful of years. This guitar is proof.
Gibson has made the '60 reissue for quite some time now, but the addition of the V1, 2 and 3 models is a somewhat recent development, following the transitions the guitar went through in 1960, the last year of construction of what everyone calls "bursts". The neck profile changed, and some cosmetic/superficial changes happened as well.
This version is the V1, which means that it has a slightly slimmer neck than a '59. I hear from a lot of players who feel that the '59 profile is too chunky. This is a great alternative. Otherwise, the guitar is pretty much an 59.
The top on this one is gorgeous with a really nice bourbon burst finish (we confirmed the color by calling Gibson). There is one small ding on the top, and otherwise there are signs of handling and careful play, but the guitar is quite clean overall. One pickup solder has been changed. Otherwise, the axe is all original and in great shape - frets, truss rod and all.
Original case and paperwork included. VOS finish.
