A Fender Tremolux is one of those nearly perfect amps. The description definitely applies to this 6G9-B from very early in 1963. The amp gods continue to smile upon us, and the amp devil makes me want to keep this one!
35 watts and two 10" speakers is a killer combo. The closed back cab gives you focus and push with tight bass response.
This amp has been responsibly serviced and is running perfectly. Filter caps have been updated and a grounded power cable added. Internally, original caps remain. The tubes have been tested and one preamp tube replaced on the way through our process.
The speakers were replaced with Celestion G10 Greenbacks. I prepped myself for some disappointment when I first opened the cab. When I played through the amp I was more than pleasantly surprised that the speakers fit really well. They sound spectacular in this arrangement.
The transformers are all original. The latest date code on anything in the amp is on the power transformer, which is from early 1963.
