SOLD - Fender Princeton 5F2-A 1961 Tweed
$0.00Fender officially wrapped up tweed amp production before this Princeton was assembled, with the Champ and Harvard continuing on for a bit. This is likely one of the last Princetons to leave the line.
The amp is in remarkably clean condition. There is some very light water or moisture damage, visible in the pictures. The original handle is intact - a rare sight on these amps! The power cord is original as well. Most importantly, all the transformers are original and pictured for reference.
It is outfitted with a JBL D208, which sounds pretty cool. I think the result of this speaker swap is a little more headroom before breakup, but I don't have another Tweed Princeton amp to reference, and the included original speaker has a hole in it.
The amp has been serviced and the original parts are included. The power switch failed at some point and an era appropriate unit has been installed.
The amp sounds solid, includes vintage tubes that you might decide to replace, but it works well with them currently.
A great grab for a collector or player - a highly desirable piece!
