This is a 1966 Fender Mustang/Duo-Sonic neck pickup. It was a DOA pickup on arrival so we had it professionally rewound by Tom Brantley. Reads 5.86k ohms, excellent condition. Tom Brantley is one of the most respected vintage pickup rewinders working today, known specifically for his period-correct approach to Fender pickup restoration — correct wire gauge, wind count, and technique applied to the original bobbin and flatwork. A Brantley rewind on a 1966 original bobbin means the physical structure of the pickup is intact and period-correct, with fresh winding that restores the pickup to correct specification. At 5.86k this is correctly wound for the bright, clear, articulate Mustang/Duo-Sonic neck tone. Note that we also have the matching 1964 bridge pickup listed separately, also Brantley rewound, reading 5.84k — together they make a well-matched pair for a period-correct Mustang or Duo-Sonic build. Ready to install.
