I have an unspoken goal to always have a 1958 or 1959, gold-guard Jazzmaster in stock.

This is the best iteration of the Jazzmaster as far as I am concerned.  The gold anodized pickguard is just so cool looking, and it also addresses an issue with later models - pickguard shrinkage.  Later tortoise guards shrink like crazy.  Eventually, they become unserviceable as the hug the pickups and pull themselves over the bridge mount bushings, affecting the ability to play the guitar and set it up effectively.  The gold guard will of course never shrink.

Of course there is much more to love here.  There is the unbelievable tone, the sublime feel of the neck, the light weight at just 8 pounds 4 ounces, and that vintage vibe.

A professional refret has been performed, increasing playability and addressing an expensive repair that faces most pre CBS guitar purchasers.

Tone caps have been changed out with the original pots and electronics otherwise remaining original and intact.

The pickups are original and sound fantastic.

The tuners are reproductions.

The original tweed case is included.  It has seen some time and wear, but it safely holds the guitar with two working latches, a sound handle and hinges.
