Here's a delicious 5E3 from 1959 that is running really well.

It came to us with original filter caps.  They were just replaced with the originals retained.  While doing this work we changed the power cable to a grounded replacement and kept the original.  

Some of the pictures were taken before we changed the filter caps and the power cable, just FYI.  I added pics after the work was complete and the amp was tested several times.

There has been some maintenance in the circuit.  The original bias diode was removed and a modern one added on the board.  Two bias caps were replaced.  We checked the rest of the caps for leakage and all remaining have been given a clean bill of health.

The original Jensen P12R is there and it sounds strong.

The handle is changed, but the tweed is original, as is the grille.  

All codes on the speaker, transformer, pots and tube chart are correct for the amp to have left Fender when the tube chart was stamped - January 1959.
