Fender 2012 Jazzmaster '62 American Vintage Reissue Novak pickups, Spitfire Tort Pickguard

I traded this Fender American Vintage '62 Jazzmaster reissue in Olympic White from a regular customer - a professional player who upgraded it for gigging.  It kills!  The guitar is fitted with a matched pair of Curtis Novak pickups — a JM-V in the neck position (7.82k) and a JM-Fat at the bridge (7.02k), both dated November 29, 2020. Novak's Jazzmaster-specific wind designs are known for producing fuller low-mid response and tighter definition compared to stock AVRI pickups, while retaining the characteristic floating Jazzmaster voice. The alder body and rosewood fingerboard combination typical of this series contributes to a balanced, slightly woody character across the frequency range. The guitar is in excellent overall condition, with original finish in excellent shape and no body repairs.

The American Vintage '62 Jazzmaster reissue is Fender's specification-accurate recreation of the original offset design — built in the USA with a 7.25" radius rosewood board, vintage-style tuners, the correct floating tremolo and rhythm/lead circuit wiring layout, and period-accurate neck profiles. The neck on this example is dated February 29, 2012, and carries the marking "54477 Chavez," consistent with AVRI production neck stamps from the Corona, CA factory. The vintage "C" profile at .835" at the first fret and .916" at the twelfth fret is one of the more comfortable Jazzmaster neck shapes Fender has produced in the reissue era. 

Several components on this guitar are non-original. The pickups are replaced Curtis Novak units; the originals are not included. The bridge is an aftermarket Mastery bridge and tremolo system and the tremolo arm is also non-original. The pickguard is a Spitfire tortoiseshell reproduction, not the original - a nice and costly upgrade. Pickup screws are non-original. Wiring is partially original; solders have been redone. The neck and body finish are original and in excellent condition. No cracks, repairs, or structural issues are noted on the body or neck. The guitar ships in its original Fender case, which is in excellent condition with no smell. A strap is included.

The guitar set up perfectly for us with no issues and there is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments.
