This 2012 Fender Excelsior Pawn Shop Series Guitar Amplifier in brown is in very good condition. The Excelsior is a 13-watt, single-channel combo built around a 15" Fender Special Design speaker in a brown tolex-covered cabinet. That combination — a relatively low-wattage single-ended class AB design pushing a large-diameter speaker — favors warm, round clean headroom at lower volumes with natural power-amp breakup available as you push it. The tremolo circuit adds useful modulation without additional controls cluttering the front panel.

Fender introduced the Excelsior as part of the Pawn Shop Series, a line designed around the aesthetic and spirit of budget, utilitarian amps from earlier eras. The cabinet is 7-ply 3/4" birch/maple plywood with brown tolex covering and a gold weave grille — both original. The chassis is metal and in excellent condition. Controls are straightforward: Volume, Tone, and Tremolo Speed and Intensity knobs, all original. The amp runs 2 x 6V6 power tubes and 2 x 12AX7 preamp tubes — all four are Sovtek. The output transformer carries a date code of 20120229, consistent with the stated 2012 manufacture date. Both transformers are Fender-branded and original. All potentiometers and filter caps are original. There is no reverb. A tremolo pedal jack is onboard, but no pedal is included.

There are no repairs, changes, or issues with this amplifier. The cabinet is in very good condition, the grille and baffle are both in excellent condition, and the chassis is excellent. The 15" Fender Special Design speaker cone is original and in very good condition. No power cable, accessories, or documentation are included. No case or cover is included.

Shipping Policy
By completing your purchase you are agreeing to this shipping policy. Shipments require signature on delivery, no exceptions. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.

Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
