Fender 1953 Esquire Blackguard All Original w/ Original Poodle Case, Excellent

This Fender 1953 Esquire in Blonde is in excellent condition.  It is truly one of the best looking vintage guitars I've had through here - it is just so clean but played and handled enough where you won't be afraid to play it.  It is what I'd call' "Fresh".  It plays astoundingly well and sounds superb.  This is the finest one on the market!

The body is dated 10/27/53 and the neck is dated 10-53, both stamped "Esq," putting this right in the pocket of the most desirable and sought after Tele shaped guitars of all time. The neck is birdseye and flamed maple with a soft V profile and Kluson no-line tuners stamped "Pat Apply 2356766," consistent with correct early-'50s Blackguard hardware. The bridge is the period-correct 3-saddle ashtray with cover and brass saddles. 

The guitar was refretted - not because the originals were worn, but rather because they were pretty severly tarnished from non-use.  Holger Notzel did the fret job.  Holger is AKA Hogy, and his fret jobs are legendary.  He added a bone nut to match the "vintage tall" frets.  The original nut and frets are included. Beyond those two items, originality is exceptional: finish, pickguard, pickguard screws, neck plate, neck screws, tuner screws, all hardware, switch, switch tip, wiring, solders, pots, output jack, knobs, and control cavity cover are all original. The bridge pickup reads 6.17k. Action is set low and even at 2/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the 12th fret. Neck, fretboard, and body show no repairs. Both the pickup cavity and control cavity are near mint.

The original Fender poodle-style case is included and rates very good. No accessories or documentation are included, and the guitar has no smell.
