This Epiphone Century E422T in sunburst is in excellent condition. It comes with the original chipboard case, which is in remarkably good shape as well
The E422T is a thinline semi-hollow electric with a laminated maple body — top, back, and side. Laminated maple produces a bright, articulate response with strong note definition and controlled resonance, characteristics well-suited to use with P-90 pickups. At 5 lbs and 1-7/8" deep, it is extremely comfortable to play. It is a great guitar to grab for noodling on the couch as there is enough acoustic tone to practice or write songs, unplugged. The 25.5" scale length adds tension and clarity to the high end compared to shorter-scale hollowbodies.
The E422T features a mahogany neck with a medium-slim C profile and a Brazilian rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays and a 12" radius. The body carries single-ply cream binding. The pickguard is original tortoiseshell in excellent condition. The neck pickup is a Gibson P-90 dogear — original — reading 8.39k, mounted with a black cover. Two gold knobs control the circuit, and both potentiometers are original and in excellent condition. All electronics are original: wiring, pots, output jack, and pickup. Hardware is fully original: Kluson Deluxe 3+3 tuners with original screws, original rosewood bridge and saddle, and a Gibson nickel tailpiece. The finish is original throughout.
The the fretboard has a lift where the neck hits the body that you can see when sighting down the neck. This is typical with thinline guitars. There is a limit to how low you can set the action, but we were able to get it playing comfortably with 11 gauge strings. Action sits at 3/32" on the 1st string and 3/32" on the 6th string at the 12th fret. The truss rod is tightened nearly all the way and the bridge is low. If you want lower action on this guitar, a luthier could reset the neck or do a refret on the upper register of the neck, level the fretboard there, and lightly sand the bridge base. This sounds worse than it is, but we want to be clear about the guitar's playability.
Finish checking is present along the lower bout/side — these are not body cracks; see the photos. The frets are in very good condition. The guitar is a real looker in person - cosmetically it is in very fine shape.
