DBZ 2014 Diamond Imperial Quilt Top MIK with Case, Very Good

This DBZ Diamond Imperial Quilt Top MIK in Amber Quilt is inexcellent condition aside from the missing logo plate on the headstock, so we're calling it Very Good. It comes with the original DBZ case. The Imperial is built on a mahogany body with a carved quilted maple top — a combination that pairs mahogany's warm low-midrange body with maple's tighter, more defined upper register. At a 24.75" scale and with a soft-V mahogany neck, the guitar sits in familiar LP-style tonal territory: warm and full in the low end, with the carved maple top adding clarity and articulation. The body's chambered thinline profile — tapering from 1.5" to 5/8" at the edge — keeps the weight down to a comfortable 7 lbs 13 oz.

The Imperial's construction centers on an ebonized rosewood fretboard with pearloid diamond inlays and a GraphTech TUSQ nut, over a mahogany neck with a soft-V profile. Electronics are all original: the neck position carries a Diamond Custom N9C humbucker reading 7.85k, and the bridge runs a Diamond Custom R15 humbucker reading 14.92k — a meaningful output gap that positions the bridge pickup for a noticeably hotter, more aggressive voicing. Both chrome pickup covers show some scratching. The control layout is straightforward: two potentiometers, a 3-way toggle switch, and two chrome knobs, all original. Wiring, switch, output jack, and cavity cover are all original. Hardware is equally intact: original Grover tuners, a tune-o-matic style bridge with metal saddles, and DBZ/Diamond's custom extended engraved chrome stop-tailpiece, all original. The finish is original throughout.

The headstock is missing its logo — noted in the photos. The chrome pickup covers show some scratching. Frets are in good condition. We set the guitar up here in the shop with the action at 2/32" on the 1st string and 2/32" on the 6th string at the 12th fret. The original DBZ case is in good condition.
