Amplified Nation amps never disappoint, and used examples don't come around often.  This one surely won't last!  We tested all the tubes and ran it through its paces.  This one is 100% good to go!

Howard Dumble built amplifiers by hand in California for the rocktars of the day — Carlos Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford, Jackson Browne, Eric Johnson, John Mayer. He built perhaps 300 total across his working life, sold them for prices that now reach six figures on the rare occasions they appear, and refused to work with anyone he didn't choose himself. The Dumble Overdrive Special is the specific circuit that defines the Dumble sound — harmonically rich cleans that bloom and open up as volume increases, and an overdrive channel that transitions from clean to saturated with a smoothness and organic quality that no production amplifier has fully replicated.

Amplified Nation built the Bombshell Overdrive using knowledge gained from having real Dumble amplifiers in their shop.  This is their iteration of the Overdrive Special, a three preamp tube, two channel amp equipped with preamp boost on both channels. The result combines a cascaded gain stage, High Plate preamp — the Robben Ford-style Skyliner preamp — and a superb master volume control that unleashes an explosive array of full-bodied cleans and supremely smooth, chewy overdrive tones. The Bombshell is harmonically rich with beautiful cleans and smooth high-gain overdrive just a click of the footswitch away.  This circuit was designed to be remarkably easy to dial in and abundant with Dumble attributes.

This is the 100-watt version running four TAD 6L6 power tubes into Hammond power and output transformers and a Mojo choke, hand-wired in the USA on a custom aluminum chassis, built October 5, 2022 and dated on the chassis. The ivory suede covering over a high-grade solid wood cabinet with black sparkle grille cloth is a visually specific and elegant combination — custom chosen and the kind of detail that distinguishes individual Amplified Nation builds from one another.

The Bombshell ships with a two-button footswitch with locking DIN cable for channel and boost switching, and features 4/8/16 ohm speaker output impedance switching on the rear panel. Original filter caps, original pots, three JJ ECC83 preamp tubes. Near mint condition, dated chassis. Original footswitch included. No cover.

Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. All amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
