Alvarez 2021 Masterworks Series OM MF60OM

The MF60OM pairs a solid AAA-grade Sitka spruce top with solid African mahogany back and sides in an OM body — a combination that produces clear, balanced tone with a focused midrange and enough top-end articulation for fingerstyle work. The OM's smaller footprint and 24.8" scale length keep string tension comfortable and response lively. Alvarez's FS6 forward-shifted scalloped bracing with tapered tone bars opens up the soundboard more than a standard X-brace pattern, which tends to improve dynamic range and sustain at lighter playing volumes. Overall condition is excellent: finish is original and in very good shape, the neck is clean, frets are excellent, and the guitar plays at 3/32" on both the first and sixth string at the 12th fret.

Alvarez's Masterworks Series sits at the top of their production line, featuring tonewoods and appointments typically reserved for boutique builders at this price point. The MF60OM uses a bi-level Indian rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle, an Indian rosewood fretboard, Paua abalone and mother-of-pearl inlay at the 12th fret, and premium open-gear nickel tuners at a 20:1 ratio. The shallow-V-to-C neck profile on a one-piece mahogany neck is a comfortable compromise for players who want a little backbone without a full V feel. The 14.96" fretboard radius and 1-3/4" nut width make this a solid choice for flatpickers and fingerstyle players alike.

There is one noted finish issue: a small spot of clouding on the back edge. No cracks, repairs, or structural issues on the top, back, sides, neck, or fretboard. No pickguard damage. The original tortoiseshell pickguard is present. The guitar comes in its original Alvarez hybrid case, also in excellent condition.
