SOLD - Gibson PAF Pickup with Nickel Cover 1961
$0.00This double black bobbin PAF pickup was removed from an ES-175D. I am selling the other pickup as well, and the two are a great match - this one measures at 7.89k and the other at 7.88k.
When I received the guitar that the PAF came from, none of the wiring harness' solders were changed. I've included pics of the complete harness here to show the complete assembly. The cover of this pickup had once been removed, so I removed it again to show the entire pickup.
Clearly visible are the PAF features - the L shaped tool marks on the legs, the Patent Applied For sticker, the correct color wire in the "square in circle" bobbin hole, the fabric-like black tape wrapping the assembled pickup and the two-wire braid shield on the lead wire. 1 15/16” spacing, on center, between pole pieces.
Lead wire length is generous - a great benefit of removing a PAF from a hollowbody. The lead on this pickup is 10.5" long.
The pickups sounded amazing in the guitar, but with the broken headstock it just made more sense to remove the pickups and put them on the market separately.
