This 1961 Vox AC30 in the coveted Fawn covering is one of the most iconic and influential guitar amplifiers ever built, representing the very sound of early British rock and pop. From The Beatles and The Shadows to countless players who followed, the AC30 defined an era with its chime, compression, and harmonically rich voice—and early fawn examples like this are among the most sought after of all.
This amp is truly dumbfounding - it sounds so flippin good! It is going to knock you out!
The amp was serviced previous to its arrival here. The only thing that I'd work on is the Normal input jack. It is worn and a little intermittent. I cleaned it and that helped, but it still is quirky. I am ordering a new one and will install it if it arrives before the amp sells. Everything else is working really well, and the amp couldn't be more gorgeous.
The speakers and transformers are original, as is the covering and the grille cloth. The original vibrato footswitch is also included.
One piece of advice - get an Ernie Ball panning volume pedal to use with this amp. It allows you to connect your guitar to the vibrato input and the normal input. You can then pan from clean to vibrato, getting the perfect mix somewhere between the heel and toe position on the pedal. The vibrato channel is most useful when you use this method!
Tonally, this amp delivers that unmistakable Vox character: bright, three-dimensional cleans that shimmer and sparkle, transitioning into singing overdrive when pushed. The response is immediate and touch-sensitive, rewarding dynamic playing and volume-knob control. Chords bloom with harmonic complexity, single notes cut with clarity, and the amp cuts like no other in a mix whether in the studio or on stage.
NOTE OUR SHIPPING POLICY FOR VINTAGE AMPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS LISTING!
We will take the chassis out of this amp and ship it separately. There is no other way to safely ship a vintage Vox amp! You will have to do some relatively simple assembly when the amp arrives. We will double-box the chassis and cabinet. Don't worry, we've done this many, many times and we know how to get this amp to you safely. It will be a bit expensive, but it'll be worth it.
As with all amplifiers at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and evaluated to ensure dependable performance.
We buy, sell, and take trades.

Shipping policy:
When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping. These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them. We remove the chassis of amps with heavy transformers and ship them separately as their weight can distort the chassis if the box is dropped in shipping. These cases require customers to reassemble amps. It also costs us more. The shipping cost is higher as a result. We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure. Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently. Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping. We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
