This Fender 1951 Esquire in Blonde is in very good condition.
This Blackguard Esquire has a single bridge pickup, a U-shaped maple neck with a professional refret, and an original finish throughout. The pickup, bridge, pots, switch, saddles, pickguard, strap buttons, string tree and tone caps are original, as are the screws. Faint "TG" lettering can be seen in the neck pocket by the bass side neck screws, with what appears to be a 6 and a 1 nearby; neck pocket photos are included.
There are several changes, listed here plainly. The tuning machines are reproductions, and a different set was previously applied, adding screw holes to the headstock behind the tuners; the post holes and bushings look original. A small repair on the headstock edge near the low E tuner came from adding a screw without a pilot hole. There is also a small screw hole from an added string tree.
The neck pickup route was widened slightly at some point, with two pickup mounting screw holes in the route, and the pickguard was not altered. There is a spliced wire in the electronics, likely from that work. The switch tip is a reproduction, with the original in the case. It weighs 7 lbs 10 oz, and a reissue "thermometer" tweed case is included.
