Blonde Jaguars are pretty rare, with not only the custom color but also an ash body setting them apart from others. This one is from early 1963, bearing features most often seen on examples from '62.
The instrument plays extremely well with great action and no neck issues, one of the better playing Jags that have crossed our bench.
This guitar is all original with perhaps the exception of the frets. They're in nice shape and the guitar has been played a good deal, so I think they're probably changed.
The pickguard has seen a little work. The nitrate that the pickguards of this era are made of cause them to shrink. In extreme case, the tortoise guards can grab onto the switch control plate, the bridge ferrules and the pickups, making service difficult. Someone did some filing on the guard to get it to fit well. This can be the only recourse other than pickguard replacement, and this particular one has a great look, so it is good that it was never replaced.
We gave the guitar a once over as we do. The truss rod still has room for future adjustment if needed, and there are no issues or playability problems. It's a really nice one!
