Vox Silver Bell Celestion 12" JMI Era — H1777 Recone, 8Ω

The Vox Silver Bell — properly the Celestion T1088 — is the speaker that defines the AC30 sound. Made exclusively for Vox by Celestion from 1964 through the JMI era, it is an alnico-magnet 12" driver with a character that no modern ceramic speaker replicates convincingly: detailed, articulate, and complex on the top end, with a smooth midrange that sits perfectly under British-voiced EL84 power sections. It is the speaker the Beatles' Vox rigs were loaded with, the speaker that gave the Shadows their tone, and the speaker that every serious AC30 restoration targets as the correct period component.

This is a JMI-era silver bell Celestion speaker, reconed in the 1990s with a 53H1777 cone. The 53H1777 is 1990s Pulsonic cone specification recone kit, known for bringing a brighter tone with increased "chime" compared to standard modern cones. The frame is clean and excellent, the original Vox label on the magnet bell is intact, and the speaker is fully functional with no rubbing or issues.  The grey gasket material on the front is replaced, so the date codes are gone.  1960s speakers have their date codes stamped on these gaskets.

Impedance is 8 ohms. Correct for AC30 and period Vox applications, and compatible with a wide range of vintage and modern British-voiced combo and cabinet applications.
