We have a set of 1970s Ping 6-in-line chrome tuning machines in excellent condition. Ping produced reliable, well-regarded hardware during this era, and these tuners show it — the chrome finish is clean, the buttons are intact, and the gears turn smoothly. These are the kind of vintage parts that get used for period-correct repairs or upgrades on import guitars from the late 70s and early 80s.
Ping was a significant OEM and aftermarket tuner supplier throughout the 1970s, producing hardware that found its way onto a wide range of guitars. Their 6-in-line format was a direct fit for the Stratocaster and Telecaster market, and these tuners were widely used as factory and replacement parts on domestic and import instruments of the era. Finding a complete set in this condition is increasingly difficult — vintage hardware gets separated, corroded, or lost over decades.
Condition is very good. No specific issues are noted. As with any vintage hardware, buyers should verify fitability with their specific instrument before purchasing. No other accessories are included.
