This Marshall Model 2245 JTM45 MKII Reissue Head is in near mint condition. It comes with a non-original cover.  I love these heads - so much old school tone for the money here!

The JTM45 circuit is one of the most historically significant amplifier designs in electric guitar history, tracing directly to the early 1960s Marshall designs derived from the Fender Bassman. This reissue, dated 2018 by serial number, uses a GZ34 rectifier tube and a pair of 5881 power tubes — a combination that produces the characteristic sag, bloom, and warm compression associated with the original JTM45 topology. At 30 watts through that rectifier-driven power section, the amp sits in a dynamic range well-suited to pushed, touch-sensitive clean-to-crunch response.

The Model 2245 JTM45 MKII Reissue faithfully reproduces the plexi-era circuit in a compact head format. The cabinet is Baltic birch plywood in original black tolex with a rubber handle, all original and in excellent condition. Dagnall supplies all three transformers — power, choke, and output — matching the specification of the original-era builds. The output transformer carries date code 1840018F. All three transformers are original to the unit. The chassis is metal, original, and in excellent condition. Preamp tubes are 3 x ECC83 branded Marshall; power tubes are 2 x 5881 branded Electron; the rectifier is a GZ34 branded Marshall. Potentiometers, knobs, filter caps, and all chassis components are original with no internal repairs or changes of any kind.  We cleaned the tube sockets and pots and tested all the tubes to make sure everything is good to go on arrival.

There are no repairs, changes, or issues with this amplifier. The cabinet is in excellent condition, the chassis is in excellent condition, and the covering is original throughout. No internal repairs have been made. The power cable is included. A Studio Slips cover in very good condition is included.

Shipping Policy
By completing your purchase you are agreeing to this shipping policy. Shipments require signature on delivery, no exceptions. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.

Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
