Fender 2017 Starcaster Mint Condition

The Fender Starcaster is a semi-hollow thinline design built on a maple body with a maple neck and fretboard, a reissue of a desirable 70's offering from Fender. The Wide Range Special humbuckers, reading 7.72k at the neck and 8.11k at the bridge, are wound to produce a fuller output than a single-coil while retaining definition and note separation. This example is in genuinely mint condition throughout — finish, frets, fretboard, pickguard, hardware, and electronics are all unmarked and show no signs of wear. Action is set low and even at 2/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the 12th fret with 10-46s installed.

Fender introduced the Starcaster in 1976 as a direct response to Gibson's dominance in the semi-hollow market, particularly the ES-335. It was a short-lived model — discontinued by 1980 — and never achieved strong commercial traction in its original run, which makes surviving examples, especially clean ones, genuinely collectible today. Fender revived the Starcaster name for a series of reissues and variations in the 2010s and 2020s. The natural finish on a maple body is a clean presentation that shows off the wood grain. All original finish, hardware, and electronics are intact and unmodified.

There are no condition issues to report. No repairs have been made to the neck, body, fretboard, or nut. Wiring and solder joints are original. The guitar comes with a vinyl, single-layer (cheap) gig bag (not original, fair condition). No additional accessories or documentation are included.
