I am on a mission to be the vintage amp headquarters! A big part of the mission is to bring amps to you that are fully ready to go. Not so many sellers out there have access to techs to fully check amps before they list them. Others just aren't interested in doing so. Both statements are true for most private party sellers. We know that our customers want amps that work when they get them. This is what we do.
To that end, I went completely through this Deluxe Reverb. It isn't cosmetically perfect, but it runs like a top after testing all the tubes, cleaning the pots, jacks, tube sockets, and reverb tank cable ends. I tightened all the pot, jack and switch nuts to make sure grounding is solid. Electrolytic caps were updated throughout as the originals were leaking voltage. The ceramic tremolo disc capacitors were changed out. Grid resistors were updated. I installed a grounded power cable, and added a 1970s Fender footswitch.
The work performed would cost hundreds of dollars at a third-party tech.
The Deluxe Reverb has found its way into more recording studios, clubs and bars than any other Fender amplifier. It is kind of perfect: a small to medium-sized amp with the ability to deliver both sparkling clean tones and low-wattage breakup at 22 watts with 6V6 tubes and relatively small transformers. The 1965 blackface Deluxe Reverb is probably the most sought-after year of the most sought-after Fender combo amplifier.
The AB763 circuit's signature characteristic is its mid-scoop: a natural dip in mid-frequencies that creates the classic Fender tone. With 22 watts from two 6V6 tubes driving a single 12" speaker through intentionally undersized transformers, creating a lively, compressed tone with dynamic sag that many players prefer over higher-powered alternatives.
All four Schumacher transformers are original and date to 1965 — power transformer week 10, choke week 13, output transformer week 21, reverb transformer week 26. Original reverb tank. Original pots. Original knobs, handle, cabinet, baffle, black tolex, and wheat sparkle grille cloth. The amp has been properly serviced: filter caps replaced, power cord upgraded to grounded three-prong. Sovtek 6V6 power tubes, JJ GZ34 rectifier, JJ and RCA preamp tubes.
The speaker is a Warehouse G12C — non-original, replacing the original Jensen C12Q that would have been factory-installed. The Warehouse speaker is a well-regarded modern ceramic unit and the amp is fully functional, but the original speaker is absent and priced accordingly. One cabinet rubber foot is missing, visible in the photos. 70s Fender footswitch included in very good condition. Generic cover included in excellent condition. Very good condition overall.

Shipping Policy
By completing your purchase you are agreeing to this shipping policy. Shipments require signature on delivery, no exceptions. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.
Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. All amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
