We have here a vintage 1970s Bigsby Palm Bender B & G unit in excellent condition. The Palm Bender is a compact vibrato device designed to be mounted directly on the guitar body and operated with the picking hand, allowing for pitch modulation without a full-sized tailpiece assembly. The B & G designation indicates this unit was intended for use with both Bigsby-equipped and non-Bigsby guitar setups, giving it broader compatibility than some other Palm Bender variants. Condition is excellent — this is a clean example for its age.

Bigsby Palm Benders were produced in relatively limited numbers compared to the standard B-series vibratos, and they occupy a specific niche in the Bigsby catalog. They were popular with players who wanted vibrato functionality without committing to a full Bigsby tailpiece, or who needed a secondary pitch-bending option. By the 1970s, Bigsby's manufacturing was well-established and these units were built to the same rugged standards as the rest of the line. Vintage Palm Benders in good shape are genuinely hard to find — most that surface show heavy use, missing hardware, or mounting damage. A clean 1970s example like this one is a legitimate find for collectors or players working on period-correct builds.

The part has seen some use but everything works like it should.  No mounting screws included.
