Gibson 1981 ES-335 Dot Neck Reissue Sunburst W/ Original Case, Very Good

This Gibson 1981 ES-335 Dot Neck Reissue in Sunburst is in very good condition.  Cosmetically, the guitar is gorgeous and on the edge of being classified as an actual vintage guitar.  We're calling the condition Very Good due to the changes listed below, which can be reversed with the included, original parts.

The ES-335 Dot Neck Reissue was Gibson's early-80s callback to the original late-50s dot-inlay 335s, part of their efforts to return to the roots of Gibson electrics that had changed so drastically under Norlin ownership. The neck pickups both carry Patent Number 2737842 markings and read 7.06k and 7.12k — these are Tim Shaw-designed humbuckers, the well-regarded pickups Gibson was fitting to their better instruments in the early 80s before the transition away from that spec. The mother-of-pearl dot inlays, single-ply cream binding, and medium-to-slim C neck profile all track with the Dot Reissue's original intent. Action is set low and even at 2/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the 12th fret.

What's been changed: the bridge and tailpiece are non-original Fabre USA pieces (an extra set of the same is included in the case), and the entire wiring harness was swapped out for a really nicely constructed Emerson replacement.  The harness includes everything from the switch, through the pots, to the output jack.  Both Tim Shaw humbuckers with their original screws and full-length leads the pickguard and its screws, the switch tip, all four amber knobs, the Grover tuners and their screws, the nut (bone, unrepaired), the neck finish, and the body finish. No neck repairs, no fretboard repairs. Fret condition is good.  One thing to note from the specs: the tip of the rear strap button is broken off and has left a mark on the body, presumably when it broke — see the photos.

The guitar ships in its original Gibson case, which is in very good condition with no smell. Included accessories are an extra Fabre USA bridge and tailpiece, plus an adjustment wrench.
