Fender Champion 600 Amplifier 5B1 – 1951 Vintage Tube Amp, Serviced

This 1951 Fender Champion 600 Amplifier (5B1 circuit) is a rare early example of Fender’s small tube combos that helped define the sound of post-war electric guitar. With its single 6" speaker, simple control layout, and warm tube-driven breakup, the Champion 600 became a favorite practice and recording amp for blues, country, and early rock ’n’ roll players.

This particular amp has been professionally serviced.  All the caps and resistors have been updated, which is typical for an amp of this age.  The transformers are original, so is the speaker.  The power cable was replaced with a grounded one.  The original cable is included.  We tested the tubes, cleaned the pots, and got it completely good to go.

The amp works well and sounds just as it should.  It is more of a collectable than a daily driver, but it is a cool piece of Fender history.  As one of Leo Fender’s earliest production amplifiers, the Champion 600 5B1 holds historical significance and remains highly collectible, especially in working condition. With its classic tweed-era design and restored playability, this amp is ready for both the stage and the studio—or as a centerpiece in a vintage Fender collection.

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to do some assembly on delivery, which is simple with this amp.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
