This 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe is a gigging machine - a loveable and very playable mongrel.
The guitar weighs just 9 pounds, 4.5 ounces - not bad at all for an LP from this era! A nice refret makes it a great player.
You get extreme flexibility thanks to the coil tap, applicable to the late 70s/early 80s DiMarzio Super Distortion bridge pickup. The bridge pickup area was routed to fit this pickup. Another switch puts the pickups out of phase.
Original parts include the bridge, the pots and tone caps, back plates, switch selector ring. The D tuner is either a more shiny, period-correct replacement or a Gibson Deluxe marked repro. The switch was updated at some point. There is a cracked, plastic output jack plate in the case, but a black one isn't original to a Goldtop. The one on the guitar is a replacement. The pickguard is a 1980s Chandler replacement that was altered to accommodate the humbucker in the bridge position.
The headstock has been cracked with a stable repair applied. You can barely feel the line in the finish on the back of the neck. The break did not go through the face of the headstock.
For a guitar with so many changes, it is in great cosmetic shape.
The truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustments, and the guitar set up perfectly with 10-46 strings.
A repro case is included.
