We're very certain that we were the first to take a look under the hood of this P Bass.  All the screws looked like they had been untouched since the bass was assembled, and that certain sound you hear when the pickguard and neck come off is pretty unmistakable.  While we'd love to leave such an instrument fully assembled, we are compelled to check everything and document it for you so you can be sure that our instruments are what we say they are.

By 1966, CBS changes to classic Fender features were underway.  However, this bass reflects only the change in logo design as well as pearl dot inlays.

The finish was still sprayed in nitrocellulose lacquer until 1968, perhaps one of the biggest changes to Fender basses in the 60s era, and not one that was for the better.

As you can see in the pictures, the bass has seen far less than average use and is in excellent cosmetic condition.

There are no changes or repairs to the instrument.  Pickups are black-bobbin originals with the original foam beneath.  All solders are undisturbed.  The pickguard has shrunk slightly, but not nearly as much as most we've seen.

The bass was easy to set up, frets are clean and show little wear, and the weight is pretty right on.  This is just a killer bass!

Original pickup cover, bridge cover and Fender case included!
