This Duo Sonic is finished in the rare and very cool Maroon Burst, but it has a couple small issues that make it more affordable than many others you see out there. It has great potential for someone who wishes to restore it a bit.

The issues aren't all that bad. The pickguard is cracked - very typical for this model, so it has been replaced. The replacement is from our friends at Pickguard Planet (www.pickguardplanet.com), where you can get vintage accurate pickguards for pretty much everything. The original pickguard is in the case. The pickup selector switch has been changed, as has the wire from it to the rest of the original wiring harness. It appears that there was some water exposure on the headstock. Pickup springs have replaced what would originally be surgical tube "doughnuts". That is the end of the bad stuff.

The good stuff! The pickups, pickup covers, pots, tuners, bridge, bridge cover, case, frets, and finish are all original. There are no repairs to the neck or body. The guitar plays great, and as many know, the pickups are very similar to those in the Stratocasters of the era, so it sounds killer. The dark Brazilian fretboard is beautiful.

Find an original pickguard and a switch and this beauty is worth more than we're asking!
