This Martin 00-21 from 1951 came to us from the sons of the original owner.  It is a truly fine and very rare piece!  It appears that Martin made only 12 of these in 1951.

The guitar shows just one structural repair - a top crack on the lower bout.  There is a very small pickguard crack between the soundhole and the bridge that appears to be very stable.

The saddle has been replaced with a compensated, bone insert that did not include modification of the original bridge.

A binding repair was performed years ago on the back at the waist.  A strap button was added ages ago on the bass side of the neck heel.

The guitar plays very well as it sits.  A neck set has never been performed, and it could stay that way, despite the fact that the saddle is a bit low.  The wide nut is great for the fingerstylist.

The woods are outstanding, and while the eye is drawn tot he highly-figured Brazilian back and sides, the top is equally impressive.

The instrument is incredibly light and responsive.  Frets show plenty of life, and it is clear that the previous steward took pride in the ownership of such a beautiful guitar!

The original case is included.
