Vintage Vox Teardrop Hardshell Case — Mid-1960s, Made in Italy (EKO Factory)

This is an original Vox three-latch shaped dark gray hardshell case with orange plush lining — exactly matching documented original cases from the mid-1960s Vox teardrop/Mark series instruments. The distinctive teardrop/elongated triangular shape with the rounded top is unmistakable.

Where it was made: These cases accompanied the Italian-made Vox teardrop guitars, featuring the characteristic gray exterior with silver/chrome hardware. Many of these cases carry a "Made in Italy" logo on the bottom — worth checking if yours does.

Compatible Guitars: Your inside lower bout of 16" and length of 42.5" point toward the larger Vox teardrop models, specifically:

• Vox Mark VI (top-of-the-line teardrop guitar)
• Vox Wyman Bass (teardrop bass)
• Vox Stinger IV (teardrop bass)
• Possibly the Mark XII (12-string teardrop)

The smaller Mark III/Mark IV cases had narrower dimensions (around 14" lower bout), so your 16" interior width rules those out and points to a bass or 12-string variant.

Dating: These cases were produced 1964–1968, the peak years of Vox's Italian-made instrument line through the EKO factory in Recanati, Italy.

Condition Assessment: In excellent all-original condition with the bright orange plush intact, this is a very desirable case.
