Martin 1973 D-18 Crack Free w/ Original Case

A D-18 is really hard to beat.  The simple combination of spruce and mohogany produces a focused, punchy low-end with clear midrange articulation and enough top-end sparkle to cut through. This example is refreshingly crack-free — no top cracks, no repairs to top, back, sides, or neck. Action runs 3/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the 12th fret, which is on the lower side of standard and plays fast without buzzing. Overall condition is excellent.

The chunky C / modified soft V neck profile and 1-11/16" nut width offer perfect playability. The neck has been reset.  A new nut and saddle was added when the guitar was refretted.  Someone did a nice job, making this guitar a great player with the usual and expensive work now completed ahead of your purchase of the guitar.  Grover enclosed tuners and a black tortoise-style pickguard round out the spec sheet.

Finish is original and in very good condition with beautiful lacquer checking, honest wear, and standard dings throughout — The guitar has been played but was well cared for. Frets are in very good condition with no repairs. Fretboard and neck are both in excellent shape. The original Martin Blue molded case is included; it is in good condition with one issue — the door on the inside compartment is broken. No documentation or accessories are included.
