Gibson GA-18 Vintage Tube Guitar Amplifier – 1961 Restored Classic Combo

The 1961 Gibson GA-18 is a rare vintage tube amplifier that captures the golden-era sound of Gibson’s amplifier line. This restored combo retains its original charm while ensuring reliable performance, making it both a collector’s piece and a stage-ready amp.

This amp has seen some work, but it retains the original transformers that are a key part of the vintage tone of a tube amp from this era.  Filter caps have been changed out.  The speaker was replaced with a Celestion G10.  The covering was re-done by the previous owner with Peavey tweed-like covering.  It isn't the greatest job, but it is there.  The grille is changed as well.  The original Gibson branded handle is still in place.  

We cleaned the pots and tube sockets and tested all the tubes.  The amp is working well and sounding like it should.

Powered by classic 6V6 tubes with a simple control layout, the GA-18 delivers the warm cleans, dynamic breakup, and touch-sensitive response that defined early ‘60s small tube combos. Its single 10-inch speaker produces articulate mids and smooth highs, making it a perfect companion for blues, rockabilly, and vintage rock tones.

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to do some simple assembly on delivery.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
