Great audio gear has the same pull as great guitars — the right piece transforms how you record, how you listen, and how you work. Vintage and used studio gear has been finding its way to us for years, arriving alongside the guitars, amps, and pedals we buy from musicians, collectors, and estates. Turntables and receivers, reel-to-reel tape machines, mixing consoles, outboard gear, preamps, compressors, equalizers, tape decks, and hi-fi components — when quality audio equipment comes through, it lands here.
Every piece in this collection is evaluated for working condition and described honestly. We're not a dedicated audio shop, but we know quality when we see it, and we take the same care with vintage studio and hi-fi gear that we bring to every instrument we sell. Brands like Marantz, Pioneer, Sansui, Technics, Tascam, TEAC, Ampex, and others have passed through — and more arrive as we buy and trade.
If you're building a home studio, a listening room, or chasing a specific vintage piece of outboard gear, check back regularly. Inventory changes as collections come in. And if you have vintage audio equipment or studio gear to sell or trade, we'd love to hear from you.
We buy studio equipment!
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the audio gear tested?
Every piece is evaluated for working condition and described honestly in the listing. If something doesn’t work fully or has been repaired, the listing says so.
Does vintage audio equipment need servicing?
Often it benefits from it. Capacitors, belts, switches and other parts can wear with age even when a unit looks clean. If you plan to use a vintage piece heavily, have a qualified technician check it first. We note what we know about each piece in its listing.
Do you ship audio equipment?
Yes. We ship nationwide and internationally and pack equipment carefully. Import duties and taxes are the buyer’s responsibility and vary by destination. If you have a question about shipping a heavy piece, contact us.
Do you buy studio gear and hi-fi equipment?
Yes. We buy studio equipment and hi-fi components, alone or as part of a collection. Use our Sell Your Vintage Guitar form to get started.
Can I trade gear toward a purchase?
Yes. We accept trades toward any item in our inventory. Send details and photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com or call 530-570-1525 and we’ll provide a trade valuation.
